About the Author

Martin Vierdag, a native of the Netherlands, is a craftsman, surfboard builder, and talented artist. He migrated to Australia with his parents in 1959. He worked for surfboard maker George Rice and became a principal shaper and designer by age seventeen. He went on to do postgraduate studies in fine art in the Netherlands and has had several solo exhibitions. He lives in his self-built home in Apollo Bay in southwestern Victoria, Australia.
